Pros

The pay--I worked as a Customer Service Representative and started at $16/hour, full time. Coworkers were friendly and helpful if I needed help. I made a few good friends there who were in the training class with me.

Cons

This job gets SUPER annoying. It's a call center so you literally sit in a little cubicle all day with a headset on and talk to customers on the phone all day who call in about issues with their mortgages. You are trained for a few weeks on how to use their computer system and are given basic information related to mortgages (insurance, taxes, types of loans, etc.). When you finally finish training and get put on the floor to answer calls you quickly realize that this job is going to get annoying very quickly. You are required to use the same greeting every single time that your phone rings, which sometimes could be 60-80 times a day depending on how busy the day is and the types of calls you get. Management listens in on your phone calls randomly to make sure that you are following all of the company's rules by using the proper greeting and offering a BS survey at the end of every phone call. The call volume is insane a majority of the time so the company constantly is asking people to work through their lunches and work over time. You can make decent money working overtime since the starting pay is pretty high and you would get overtime pay but it would require you to work extra hours WITHOUT getting any extra breaks. The full time schedule I worked required a 10 hour Monday in which I only got a 45 minute lunch and a 15 minute break. When you're answering call after call after call with no down time in between, you really get stressed. It really seems like no one who works there is happy to be there so that really kills the work environment. You can just feel everyone wishing they were at a different job. If you're genuinely interested in home mortgages and dealing with mostly angry customers then maybe you can find some happiness in this job. It honestly is super boring and soul draining.
