Dave Coffman deserves sole credit for the non-corporate feel. He has tirelessly championed the idea that corporate is here to support the offices and not control them. We need to perpetuate this. Regarding zealousness about following the rules, I wish our employee manual could be three words long: "Use Good Judgment". But in reality some policy is required to clearly establish the rules of engagement and avoid chaos. But culturally, it is a better fit inside of Coffman to understand the intent, follow the intent, and exceed the intent of policy so that the employee manual never need be consulted. Rule making and rule following are not where we want to live. It sounds like you agree with that.
Part of our strategy to limit glass ceilings is to grow and create opportunities for the up-and-comers. We are hopeful that each person can develop their potential within Coffman, but we have to grow to actually achieve it. To your point, we also need to help our managers shepherd their staff to achieve their best. We will continue to work with our managers to improve their leadership abilities.
Thanks. - Dave Ruff, President
