Right off, I have the feeling this is a good workplace without toxicity from management. It’s part-time so you have room to grow in other areas in life, such as an academic career.

Pay and compensation isn’t competitive. Sometimes impatient customers can get unruly.

The pay was pretty decent and if you open at 6am you can be done by noon. Good for students who only want a few hours a week. They do try to work with class schedules every semester.

It takes a long time to get promoted fro cashier barista which is frustrating. Management is no consistent or transparent about promotions or pay raises. If management doesn't like you, good luck ever getting off cashier. There is also some discrimination from management about who gets promoted. I found that they take women much less serious. Management also constantly hovers over you and will yell at you if you start talking to and other coworker, even if there are no customers. very bad for bonging with cowerkers and makes it hard to work as a team. Also they make you yell the specials at every customer that comes and ask them if they want a muffin or beans regardless of if they're a regular who ONLY gets black coffee. They often get annoyed with us, and have told me that multiple times. the hours are flexible if you jut need maybe 10-15 hrs a week, but sometimes it can be difficult to get more if you want them.
