Pros

None of the pros outweigh the cons.

Cons

I have never worked for a more unprofessional organization in my entire career. Sexism, threats, and manipulation run rampant and drive the company's TOXIC corporate culture. The owner of the company does not care about employees or company culture at all. He is completely removed rom all account work and allows a truly incompetent and unqualified VP to make all business decisions. The VP is in way over his head, and is incapable of providing direct support - whether on account management, strategy, or HR issues - but will throw any of his subordinates under the bus when things go wrong. Employees are overworked and underpaid. Management is greedy and it comes at the expense of employees mental health. They do not staff teams properly, and tell you that working 60-hour work weeks is "expected." While this can be a part of any communications work, it should not be the norm. and it certainly should not be because leadership is lining their pockets while taking advantage of hardworking mid and junior level employees. DCG does not care at all about the mental health of their employees and sees no problem with driving them into the ground instead of hiring an adequate amount of employees to support an account. The company boasts about - and prides itself on - the "perk" of letting employees work remotely, but what they don't tell you is that you are expected to always be available. Early mornings, late nights, vacations, weddings, maternity leave, and even funerals, are not off limits if they are trying to reach you. HR is a joke and exists solely to protect the company's leadership. They regularly ignore complaints about unprofessional behavior, threats, manipulation and even sexual harassment. Recently, there have been sexual harassment complaints about two men in the organization that have not been seriously investigated and both men continue to work there. Career opportunities are limited and DCG regularly lies to employees about raises and bonuses and makes false promises.

Thanks so much for this feedback. I'm shocked to hear that you were willing to endure so much over 5-7 years. It's a shame that you never brought your well-articulated thoughts above to our attention except through this post one month after you were terminated for poor performance.
