When I moved to NYC to pursue a career in interior design, many people warned of the cut throat environment that I might find myself in. Luckily, I found the opposite of that scenario as a designer at DLD. Damon is not only a wonderful boss, but he is an experienced guide, teacher, and business owner who knows the ins and outs of New York City like the back of his hand. Only a few months into the job, I had already been introduced to so many industry names and was assisting on high-end residential projects that expanded across the country from Southampton all the way to Atherton CA. Our team has cultivated amazing relationships with our vendors, clients, and each other. The office vibe is casual and we love visits from our mascot, Lucy the dog! This past year as covid-19 safety measures closed offices throughout the city, we learned to communicate and work remotely from around the world (and on different time zones, as we have a very international team!) Throughout this year, which proved to be particularly difficult for me, Damon reached out and made several accommodations to ensure that I was doing okay. Due to personal circumstances, I had to make scheduling adjustments and he was incredibly understanding and supportive each time. He prioritizes every team member's health, safety, and well-being above all. This is a group of very talented and genuine people whom make it fun to go to work each day. I'm beyond thankful for the opportunities I've had at DLD!
