Pros
The flight benefits. The management that, against all odds, defeated a hostile takeover by US Airways and that defeated a flight attendant union after just emerging from bankruptcy. The senior management, although it hasn't been perfect in the past, really have the employees and stockholders' best interests - that's a tough job. The people at Delta are amazing - yes, you may have a bitchy agent or flight attendant but by-an-large, the employees of Delta are the best in the industry. And we have beat all odds are, next to Southwest, are currently the most financially sound airline in the US.
Cons
The costs of operating a business like an airlines - union fees, fuel costs, whims of world governments. The negative press the airlines receive is unjustified. Many people gripe about airlines today when much of what happens is beyond the control of the airline - TSA, Homeland Security, OPEC. It's very frustrating to remain positive when confronted with all of this. Delta in the past was never a leader and although we are trying to lead in certain parts of the industry, we still remain a follower - not the most innovative. We tend to play it safe which is not always the best solution.
