I worked for Dental One for 8 long miserable months. I came from Castle Dental and was promised great hours and bonuses. These so called, “bonuses” are so unrealistic. I never made a bonus check, I worked 4 days a week and brought in over 30,000 a month. Our bonus system is based on collection so after write offs and deductions I would collect 18,000 of the 30,000 that I produced and never got a bonus check. They expect the hygienist to see all new patients, take an FMX, pano, cleaning and exam. The hygienist has to enter hygiene treatment as well as doctor treatment. Schedule the patients next appointment all within 45 mins to 1 hour time frame. Sometime in October 2015 our manager would constantly hound us about our clock in and out times. Constantly, nagging us that we weren’t allowed more than 32 hours a week. If we had a 5 minute break we were asked to do whatever she felt like having us do. We became so micromanaged we couldn’t drink water in the break room without being asked if we were clocked out to have a drink of water. I realized my manager was changing our clock in and out times from our whole office. She would extend my lunch break to a full hour and change my times to make it look like I worked less minutes than I did. I called corporate who has been giving me the run around saying my manager had added minutes here and there, basically rewarding her illegal actions. Also, they now started making hygienist clock out if the patient doesn't show or if they couldn't fill in the gaps in the schedule. This is absolutely illegal because we are, “engaged to wait” under the fair labor standard act. The stress level of working for this company has been intolerable. I’ve never felt so unappreciated. I left Dental One to go back to work for Castle Dental. Dental One is the worst company I’ve ever step foot in. From what I’ve gathered all the employees at Dental One are micromanaged. I would not recommend anyone to work for this company, run far far away!
