Thank you for your feedback. We're proud of our ability to adapt and always be open to new ideas and approaches, but we are sorry that your experience did not match up with our intentions. We certainly had some issues in 2017-2019 that bubbled to the surface pretty heavily. While not a timeframe that we are proud of concerning our turnover/churn rate, any area for improvement is something that we take seriously. At the end of the day, it's our responsibility to create the best workplace we can and to create profitability that allows sustainability for everyone, and scalability for the future team. It is paramount to our chosen business model. While we have moved to a remote work environment as of the current date in 2024, we no longer have free snacks, and office cleanliness is a self-imposed priority. Our most recent team happiness score was 4.54 out of 5 (room for improvement) and our current annual churn rate for our team members is 17.39%, and from a voluntary perspective, it is 13.04%. The industry average continues to float around 50% for voluntary churn, so we are proud that the commitments we make to our team, the workplace we all provide to each other, and the happiness of our team are best in class. Thanks again for your feedback and for being part of the experience that helped us make the changes needed.

Pros

DTC is a great place, especially for those who might be looking to pivot from journalism to PR and SEO content creation. With robust training processes and a vibrant company culture, the vibe is very much "show up to work and do your work well, but work is not life." Everyone is friendly and, while there's plenty of opportunity to socialize, all of the activities are optional, so it feels much more genuine. The time is flying by working here!

Cons

As a small agency it can sometimes feel a bit limiting in terms of diversity of employees and YOY raises did not match inflation. Additionally, it can sometimes feel on the verge of over-processed, but leadership is very open to feedback on how to make things more streamlined.

Pros

DTC is a small company driven by making a measurable difference for their clients. If you work hard, your hard work will be noticed and appreciated. The owners care about their employees and the culture is outstanding. They are willing to train, give you room to grow, learn from your mistakes, and provide almost anything you need to become a better SEO. If you like working with a variety of clients, this is the place for you. The company truly listens to the feedback employees have with a TinyPulse survey that is taken once a week. This is the first time I have worked at a company where I can honestly say that I love everyone I work with. All of the employees at DTC are incredible individuals. The office atmosphere is fun, full of humor and positive energy. The office building is a hip, converted two-flat with a rooftop patio, a full bar upstairs and a break room loaded with snacks. Happy hour Fridays feel like I am hanging with friends and not just my co-workers. They offer full benefits, and they give you an $800 flight voucher every year to take a vacation. If you want to work for a small company that is driven to succeed, where you can grow professionally--DTC offers these opportunities.

Cons

The workload can be tough to manage, but they are will listen if it is unmanageable and offer help.

It's so great to hear that you feel such a great bond with your teammates. It's very rewarding personally to hear that, and thank you for taking the time to leave some comments. I'd love to say that the ebb and flow of the workload gets easier over time, but it can be very dynamic at times. There will be times when there's not enough to do and others where there is too much. Over longer stretches of time it evens out, but it doesn't make it easier when you're in the thick of it. Thank you for the feedback.
