Great place to start your career and grow - Associate Director EF (Education First) Employee Review

Pros

Great place to start your career in sales/customer service, lots of opportunities for growth from what I could see - but I also experienced a pathway of growth and fought for promotions along the way (so take position-level into consideration when reading reviews because those who didn't find growth opportunities and left in lower-level positions are likely to have a different perspective and negative reviews)

Cons

used to have a great culture for young professionals - covid/remote work really negatively impacted that and, from what I've heard, don't think they've rebounded. low pay, have to really fight for promotions used to have a big culture of "boomerangs" (i.e. people leaving and coming back to work because its a great place to work, and getting more $$ upon return because of experience gained elsewhere) but I heard from current staff that they have less of a willingness to hire these people in now because they expect too much $$ (and it causes compensation inflation for them that they can't keep up with)

Sometimes salary is not as competitive as other places in Boston area.

Well this is what it's all about! Early career opportunities while having fun along the way is a big part of what we hope people experience working at EF, and we are happy to hear this in your reflection. Thank you for sharing your note on compensation as well. We review our compensation packages regularly to make sure they align with our industry standards, and we appreciate your perspective on that.

Pros

You get to choose your tour and recruit the students you want to bring. The paid chaperone ratio is 6:1, so it is very manageable. The tours are great and the local experts are wonderful.

Cons

Company support is variable. There is high turnover and new consultants are very sales motivated and don't always get the nuances of your school or community group. I have had some WONDERFUL concusltants, but they have always been promoted before I get to work with them again.
