Pros

-Generous paid leave and insurance coverage -Mentorship can be good if you have a good manager/team, but this isn't structural -Good coworkers who are willing to help -You learn a lot: work is intellectually demanding, lots of industry exposure, sink-or-swim environment does build resilience and skill, but most places with that kind of pressure at least pay you for it.

Cons

Culture: Public shaming around mistakes, which can breed a culture of self preservation. Clear favoritism dynamic: Favorites get the client meetings, speaking opportunities, and promotions. If you're not a favorite, your mistakes are treated as a character flaw rather than normal learning moments. Career growth: Visibility, development opportunities, and exposure only somewhat linked to merit. You get the growth if you're a favourite, you get a glass ceiling if you're not. Proximity to power and who you are to them is very important. Personally my onboarding experience was also pretty terrible and disorganized. Compensation: Meh. can easily get more elsewhere, though paid leaves and insurance coverage are genuinely very good. Work-life balance: there is an always-on expectation. Boundaries are difficult to maintain.

Pros

Some genuinely brilliant, hardworking people across the organization, products are interesting and operate in a compelling industry, exposure to complex problems and fast-moving execution, compensation is competitive

Cons

- Toxic work environment that is normalized from the top down (gossip, belittling, and undermining colleagues are common and often go unchecked) - Despite having a female founder who is also a person of color, diversity and inclusion are largely performative. Many highly capable women and people of color are consistently overlooked for growth and leadership opportunities. - Lack of clear strategy. During my time at the company, I never saw a cohesive strategic plan or guiding document, which leads to constant reactive execution. - Chronic “do more with less” culture driven by poor prioritization rather than thoughtful planning. This results in frequent late nights, burnout, and inefficiency. - Very high turnover across multiple roles and teams. People tend to leave after a relatively short time once the pace and lack of structure become unsustainable. - The company’s brand recognition in the industry is weaker than leadership seems to believe, with much of its visibility tied to the founder rather than the organization as a whole.
