Pros

Lots of snacks. Metro accessible.

Cons

The politics in this office are unbelievable. It's impossible for someone who is not in the boss's "inner circle" to make their voice heard, raise issues or complaints, and demand change. All attempts to make this a better working environment were a complete failure. Once you have done the slightest thing to upset the Senior Attorneys, you are on their radar. The work-life balance here is non-existent. Paralegals were expected to work beyond the standard 9-5 work schedule (with no overtime pay), and those who left at 5 pm were made to feel ashamed that they were "letting down the team." There were even "team members" who would monitor the door at 5 pm to watch for those people who decided to leave. (This is not a joke.) EIG is definitely not "Perfect Plus," as their slogan likes to indicate. Senior Attorneys and Management are always quick to blame others for their mistakes. Senior Attorney made a mistake on a case? Blame the Associates. Associate lost or misplaced an important document? Blame the Paralegal. This is common practice at all levels within this firm. There is no Human Resources department to which you can bring any complaints or issues. All issues are funneled through the Senior Attorneys and Management. As a result, issues are subsequently swept under the rug and never addressed, and the vicious circle continues. Also, once you put in your notice, they will quickly make sure to erase any evidence that you ever worked for the firm. I wasn't even extended the courtesy of an exit interview. The turnover at this firm is out of control.

Pros

The people here are generally very nice and welcoming, which makes for a pleasant day-to-day environment. There are occasionally catered lunches in the office, and the kitchen is always well-stocked with plenty of drinks and snacks for the team.

Cons

The primary issue is that the pay is significantly lower than what competitors are offering for similar roles. Even after staying with the company for a full year, there was no raise provided—not even a 1% cost-of-living adjustment. Additionally, the workload is very high and feels disproportionate to the current pay grade, leading to an unsustainable balance for the compensation received.
