Pros
Fidelity has some okay benefits, but nothing special. The people are the best asset, and the company does not even remotely deserve any of them.
Cons
- Micromanagement from C-level executives - "One size fits all" mentality - Managers have *NO* discretion to do what is best for their teams (or the company) - Weird compensation structure. (Base pay is ***WAY*** below the industry.) - Many benefits (401k match, etc) do not kick in until you've been there a year and have a ridiculous vesting period. - Only about 5% of employees get promoted in a given year. Get ready for the "Hunger Games" to compete against your peers for good raises and promotions. - Probably the worst handling of a layoff that I've seen in my 30+ year career. - Heavy-handed RTO policy. Many workers were hired remotely during Covid, told they could alway work remotely, and now are having to quit because they can't adhere to the attendance policy. - The office environment is the worst I've ever seen. Desks side-by-side (not even cubicles). Super loud. Super distracting.
