Pros
-They will pay you a decent hourly wage as a bench jeweler
Cons
-They will not contribute to your health insurance. If you are an hourly employee, you are responsible for the entire cost. Ex: for low tier health insurance, about $5 is deducted for every hour your work as a full time employee.
-They will deduct your weekly time card if you go over 40 hours to avoid paying overtime; even if you clocked in for that time. Furthermore, they will never communicate to you letting you know why that time is being deducted.
-Little to no jeweler training. You are expected to know what you are doing and if you don't there's no effort to train you or allow you to grow as a jeweler. I was employed there for 1.5 years and all they had me do was clean and stamp castings all day long.
-Terrible communication. Everything gets communicated last minute. For example, holiday overtime was communicated the weekend before. And management was always late to open the studio which prevented jewelers to be able to clock in on time.
