Pros

There are a lot of perks including free lunch, happy hour, fitness equipment, showers & laundry. Good benefits including, 401k with company match, health insurance, and maternity/paternity leave. It is a great place to work if you have little to no experience because they mostly hire people fresh out of college because they are less expensive and more malleable. It's a small company, so you can talk to the CEO and President whenever you want. This is nice. They have a lot of interesting things to say. There is a library full of educational business books that you can check you any time you want.

Cons

Culture is very important to leadership, and raises/promotions are based on how "cool" you are rather than the quality of your work. This causes people in non-leadership positions to spend a lot of their energy trying to outshine one another instead of focusing on doing what they are good at and working together. Your salary will be 50% - 75% of your market value. You are given a mentor, however, it is very likely that your mentor is not much more experienced than you are, and he or she has only ever worked for FurnitureDealer.Net. If your job performance is not up to par, your mentor is more likely to tell leadership behind your back than to give you helpful advice to help you improve. Technology and innovation are behind current trends. The technology team lacks focus, and most initiatives go unfinished. Technology team leaders are very condescending and disrespectful to other people within the company. The company is falling behind. When they started, almost every client would rank high on SEO, now they are on the same level as or behind other furniture websites. There is no one with actual human resources or conflict resolution training.

Pros

great people and meaningful work

Cons

there really isn't any, its repetitive and mindless work, unless you are go getting and self starter, then you will thrive. You have to be able to find your own path and find your own work

Pros

They had a big fridge with various drinks. Thats the only pro.

Cons

Andy, the CEO, does not care about you. He does not care about anything, from his family, to his workers to his business. He is all about show and pretending that he is successful and that his company is successful. There is an odd balance of power at this company, and by odd, I mean completely uneven. From the publishing staff to the client side to even IT, there is no balance. You really don't have any opportunity to move up in this company unless you are on your hands and knees begging for Andys attention and doing everything he asks. If you can find anything other job to apply to, I would STRONGLY recommend that over this position. The salary is unfair for the work that you have to do and what you have to deal with on a daily basis. For your mental health and wellbeing, stay FAR away from Andy Bernstein and FDN. You will be much happier working anywhere else, and I mean anywhere else.
