Pros
For Southampton, relatively good pay. Looks good on your CV? Staff discount, but how many running watches do you really need?
Cons
A really unpleasant and unprofessional place to work. The staff are largely split between long-standing employees (10-15 years service), and those that leave after 1-2 years. Problem staff moved around departments and allowed to continue their behavioural patterns (sexual harassment, tardiness, low productivity). Several rogue senior managers in continental Europe who seem to be unmanagable by EMEA HR, resulting in a cycle of employ, grievance, resign, pay-off. Lots of infighting between EMEA staff, and in-country staff. EMEA management seem permanently at odds with US management, which is a fatal mistake if you've ever worked for a US Corporation. No sense of 'We are Garmin' - strictly silo working. I didn't notice that colleagues really cared for the brand - there wasn't the sense of pride or enthusiasm that I would expect from a successful consumer electronics lifestyle company.
