Pros

-clinical research that puts patients first -strong infrastructure -learning opportunities -good benefits -emphasis on D&I in all facets of business -on campus gym and access to bay trail

Cons

-no/low amount of promotions for non science role -new leadership is changing the culture and don’t seem open to any ideas from the long time employees that made Genentech great and had no power over leader decisions or failed molecules -return to office is more strict than pre-COVID -huge budget constraints that limit our ability to engage with sites or attend development conferences for operations staff -departments has vastly different and unequal “perks” including seemingly unlimited travel for some groups and little to none for others -staff is over worked with high performers taking a much larger share of workload without being compensated via yearly performance bonus -there’s been quite a bit of attrition without rehiring -morale is low -no stock purchase options and stock awarded with compensation package has been under performing for years

Pros

The work is meaningful and overall the company vision aligns with my goals

Cons

QA management has become inept. None of the leadership (aside from maybe one or two) truly understand the nuances of our site and jobs. They refuse to pay you more due to "budget" reasons but won't provide much information, they claim to be transparent but will make decisions behind your back and not communicate them, even if they impact you and/or your job. Leadership doesn't listen to feedback and gets defensive if you even try to give any. It honestly has become a game of politics only in QA and that's not really building any real quality culture.
