The most dishonest leadership ever. Toxic. Kind slavery. - Technology Manager Gensler Employee Review

Pros

Interesting projects. Talented people. Interesting technological developments.

Cons

Promotions are based on anything other than skill, support, tenacity or knowledge. Too many charlatans steal credit for work done by others. Poor management is causing long working hours (up to 20-30 continuous hours). Human resources and management refuse to compensate for long-standing support for projects in favor of profits and economic benefits. Modern slavery! A clear management abuse disguised as fake smiles. Competent people are overloaded with work while incompetent people are not required to have the same quality and effort. There is no room to innovate without support. Too many master's degrees to disguise mediocrity in LATAM, It doesn't matter how good you are at something, or how much support you're giving to projects; only visible "leaders" get growth opportunities, even if they haven't contributed to the projects. If you feel competent in any way, don't waste your energy and talent here. The opportunists are in the lead. Too many opportunities to waste your time. Leaders want you to be involved in many activities (not projects) but they do not care about your deadlines or your time management. As compensation you will receive 2 cents more than other companies that are not worth much in the long run. The company promotes values no one is applying on a daily basis. In summary, this is the most toxic and dishonest company in which I have ever worked.

Pros

Nice office, lots of “rah rah Gensler” events with food & booze, some nice people

Cons

Where do I start…..some studios are TOXIC. Favoritism permeates every aspect of working here. It’s nauseating. There is zero loyalty, zero recognition for hard work (yeah you get a bonus but sometimes a kind word is needed). Oh-and never ever express an opinion that may be in opposition to “leadership’s”. Your private life, beliefs, politics and other personal things are fair game for letting you go. I’ve seen it happen-fired because someone expresses in a private conversation that one has ethical concerns regarding projects that are in the office (but in another studio/office) will get you fired. They will make up some bs about “work performance”, yet no conversation ever with anyone about “needing improvement “. Out of left field. Bye bye. Management tells leadership that they’d already “warned” the person-completely untrue. Hear later it was likely due to having concerns about a client/project. Lesson learned-shut up, work 12 hrs a day and be happy with the scraps you’re thrown. Also-egos galore! Unwillingness to take accountability for mistakes.
