Pros

Good exposure to lots of different types of companies. Experience to get your CPA certificate hours. Meets lots of people and you are constantly learning

Cons

Most of the people that you meet are very particular and easily annoyed. If you were a nerd in college then it's likely that you will fit right in. If you were well liked and liked being around people, it's likely that you will have a harder time fitting in. Politics plays a great role at this firm. Expect to get paid very little and work extremely long hours. The work is arduous and boring. It's extremely difficult to study for your CPA and work here but it can be done. Personally, I had to find a position where I had more time to study and then I passed my CPA without a problem. This place expects you to make no money, work crazy hours, study for your CPA, drive to and from clients, and not to make mistakes at work. Good luck here.

Pros

Some folks are great to work with. Some of the leaders really do care.

Cons

Workday practice is a total mess. They have trouble selling work and hours are much lower than they should be so consultants end up spread very thin across multiple projects and still can't hit utilization targets on paper even if they are working very hard in actuality. The independence requirements are insane!! If I had known I would have to disclose all of my investments and be told wha t I am or am not allowed to invest money in I would not have taken the job. Independence is total hell and most consulting firms don't subject employees to those invasive requirements.
