Pros
Decent pay. Ability to focus on work. Accountability and high quality. Many different software engineering disciplines are available to work on. Middle management fairly competent (see Cons, however). Excellent work\life balance.
Cons
Career growth via promotion is virtually non-existent. Middle management does not act as an advocate for individual contributors to upper management. Upper management (above Director level) does not communicate or even know individual contributors. The only time individual contributors hear from Upper Management if there is a problem. Upper management does not appreciate feedback on improvements.
