Pros

I was with the company for 10 weeks after they bought my company. This is the most positive thing I can think of, and it’s really a con.

Cons

Literally lied about EVERYTHING they said: - Promised that nobody would be let go (company of 30 went to a company of 24 in the limited time I was there) - Said they’d find new roles in IQVIA for us. I did “interviews” with all the relevant groups and none had any openings, and the jobs were way off…. -… they demoted everyone in the structuring AND pay. I was interviewing with people who should have been below me in terms of education, experience and professionalism. - When I quit, literally not one thing was said to me from IQVIA HR. No exit interview, wondering why someone they offered a retention bonus to was quitting. I had to drag the info on how to return their POS laptop to them, which came through the day I left. - Some people may say this is a plus: it is a haven for underachievers. Idiots will move up the ladder there. For anyone who cares about their work, this may be the most negative thing I can report. - Customers WILL NOT LIKE YOU because they hate the company. I’ve never met a non-lousy-current-employee who has a positive word to say about IQVIA. - Forget being innovative. Their mentality doesn’t allow it. - Ridiculous restrictive covenants. They will literally block a former employee from going to anyone in the CRO/Biotech space for a YEAR, anywhere. Don’t even think about gardening leave: they are a one-side-fits-all place (not a typo). Also, they won’t negotiate on these. - My boss’ boss introduced himself to the company by showing a slide stating he had “N=1762” people working under him. Way to go on the welcome! This is the kind of pea brain that gets promoted: the ones who don’t know anything about management, let alone biopharma. -“How do they not know anything about biopharma? They’re huge”. Because they buy talent/innovations, then immediately lose them. -Benefits only cover married spouses. Doesn’t matter about your partnership, “now that homosexuals can get married”. How forward thinking!! I can believe that some idiot got a bonus for not negotiating that harder for a customer the size of IQVIA. -The person assigned to help me find a role in the new company had one phone call with me. Then it got palmed off to HR, who had one phone call with me. In TEN weeks of knowing I was getting my door beaten down with job offers: two phone calls. -If you are still reading, please don’t join unless you intend to become a lemming. Your eyes have been opened - no need to take my word for it ask any former INTELLIGENT employee about any of these things! - One more for luck: Having been the main customer of ours for years, IQVIA contractually restricted all growth we could have achieved with other CROs, sponsors and clinical sites (who WILL NOT WORK with IQVIA). If your business is thinking of striking a deal with IQVIA, they will drain you until they own you, and literally ask you to be thankful for them saving your job. -Double bonus, I would bet a dollars to cents that if your job is not directly involving a patient, you will not hear the word "patient" in any executive meeting. Especially the more senior ones! Hear about profits, dollars, millions in Q2, how many contracts can we close, why are we only the number one player? I have literally heard less about money in real estate broker meetings!

Resources and access to good studies to be successful in research, immediate PTO benefits, 401k match.

Cons

Growth opportunities/compensation - besides the annual merit raises of <3 percent I haven’t gotten a raise in 5 years.

Pros

Great pay initially, especially after negotiating. People are very smart and willing to meet for networking and learning opportunities. Flexibility and work life balance is by far the best perk - especially since many roles are fully remote.

Cons

Merit raises have been subpar the last 4 years and do not come close to keeping with inflation, consistently the company cites great EBITDA growth but that never is shown in bonuses nor merit raises despite receiving “exceeds expectations” ratings. Parental leave is a nominal. Very easy to get “lost in the sauce” of such a large company.
