Pros

-Very easy if you are a Team Member/Supervisor, basic customer service only and will get the hang of the role with a couple days of training. -Staff especially TM/Supervisors are easy to get along with. -0 Hours Contract so it can be flexible if you are juggling Uni or another Part Time/0 Hours job. -Quarterly Staff Socials (Used to be Monthly), usually a swap with another Entertainment venue. -Some space for progression from TM to Supervisor. (Supervisor role usually has more hours available as you are either opening or closing the venue.) -Subculture of TM & Supervisors is great!

Cons

-Not stable enough to rely on for 1 source of income. As it's 0 hours contract for TM/Supervisors, they are not legally obligated to guarantee you hours. Be prepared not to be scheduled during the week. Probably only Weekends/Busy Periods once your training period is over. -Constant talk of budget constraints- even when P&L shows that the company is making more than enough profits. I assume this goes to shareholders. -Non-existent CEO & Leadership team. Lack of communication from top down. -Still acts like a start-up company even though its been around for more than 5 years. -Culture from AGMs upwards sucks. -Lack of benefits/perks. (Job description lists 2 'real benefits' which would be a Healthcare app, which hasn't worked since I've been with the company & a lacklustre Workplace Pension. The company only contributes the minimum of 3% when the employee contributes 5%. Ignore 'testing the games before release' benefit. THIS IS NOT A REAL PERK! -Shady business practices. Managers often schedule you 5 hours 45 mins to get away with not having to give you a legal 30 min break. Every time the minimum wage increases- get ready for less hours to become available as they are obviously trying to keep their labour budgets down. (It is actually an incentive for Managers to keep their labour budgets over a certain number. If they try to schedule over- there are big question marks coming from Senior Management. -Enjoying the job or getting any fulfilment from it is highly dependent on your Venue Manager. My particular manager sucked the joy out of the job and didn't want to integrate with the rest of the venue team. This ended up with the Manager losing the confidence of the whole venue team. The team was mainly self-sufficient and led by Supervisors, who have subsequently left because they were taking on the Manager role and had more company knowledge than the Manager- but were not being paid enough to do this! -Once you hit the Supervisor role, it can be hard to progress further into a salaried role at Immersive Gamebox such as Venue Manager or VOC (venue tech support basically). They have got rid of previous roles such as AGM which halts progression as I assume they don't want a bulky payroll when it comes to venue teams. -In terms of business offerings, the company is on a big push for Group Sales/Corporate events as they believe their USP is providing an activity as well has having space for a team meeting. This is all well and good, but honestly most of the venues were not built for this purpose in mind. It means that when these bookings do happen you will be doing heavy lifting of furniture and acting as a PA for these groups. Which is not within your pay grade. Moreover, the company thinks they are giving luxury/designer in terms of experiences and prices them accordingly. In reality, it is a fast food-esque experience in the world of Entertainment with rushing customers out of the venue just so you can fit more customers in. In doesn't scream luxury and doesn't fit the extortionate price that the company now asks from its customers. Compared to other Entertainment brands it is severely lacking in innovation and is working with outdated equipment with no future proof planning for this element of the business. Will Dean was the previous CEO, who has now left the company for other business ventures. The new CEO Lisa Paton, is non-existent there is no company wide communication on her position. The company was previously in administration during this debacle. The stance of the company seems to be reactive rather than proactive and this stance is evident in the Senior Leadership team and Venue Managers. It is worrying when there is more hunger, fight and probably better ideas coming from the lower ranks than the leaders. I don't see this company progressing further than where it is at the moment. They say they are leaders of Immersive Gaming around the world, this may be true in terms of brick and mortar locations/concession stands. But these Gameboxes are usually empty when its not the Weekend/Holiday periods. So the company has to resort to cutting back on resources and labour as well as raising prices for consumers. I feel that in 5-10 years time customers will grow tired of IGB's repetitive experiences that have very little value for money and their attempts to get repeat customers/appeal to a corporate market have faltered. -This is a stepping stone company for people who want to get that Supervisor/Manager/VOC job title and then move on to a better job.

Pros

Pretty rewarding based off of the location of where you are. Lots of free networking in place due to corporate events. Co-workers and great guests definitely makes the days go by fast.

Cons

- Constantly fighting for hours because that's typical labor hour bonuses for managers - Constant micro managing - Absolutely no growth at all
