Executive staff is all from CapGemini and they want Insight to become a cut-throat consulting firm. They had a sales reorganization last year which broke the pipeline so no new work was coming in for the delivery teams to execute. So they laid off delivery teams. They later admitted that the sales reorg was bad, and decided to change it up again, adding another self inflicted hiccup to the sales pipelines, and more delivery folks get let go.
They’re focusing now on growth…but only if you’re an offshore engineer. They talk of hunger heart and harmony, but all that’s left is hunger for more work that they can’t staff since they got rid of most of their delivery employees.
Benefits have been on the decline for a year. Less PTO, higher utilization requirements, worse health insurance.
Clients are generally unhappy because after they make a relationship with a sales team, they’re then passed to internal sales folks which act like used car dealers. Then when the work starts, they get a revolving door of engineers because Insight can’t keep people around.
Quarterly bonuses are done with funny math. Some folks work 60 hour weeks to get and extra $1k per quarter, others are on the bench half the time and get an extra $700 per quarter.
