Even those experienced in advanced coffee brewing are required to merely wash dishes and bus tables for months. I feel that system is a waste of company resources. Atmosphere is extremely uptight and unfriendly. It is standard culture to be aloof and not engage with coworkers or customers. Heavy taxation of tips leads to the pay simply not being worth it. Training system requires you pretty much to teach yourself everything on your own time without being paid. I regret turning down offers for other more legitimate coffee houses and feel that it was a waste of my time and energy.
