Pros

Great place to work. Lovely people and environment. People really care about you and your career progression. Some fantastic opportunities within the business to progress.

Cons

Can't really think of any.

Pros

Great job location and an inclusive company too.

Cons

The list is huge. Let me summarise though. It is a very toxic place, not everyone is toxic but many people are. Lots of gossip, bullying and passive-aggressiveness (also from Managers and TLs). Bad benefits and low wage too. Professionals with bad manners and no tact, a little respect and lots of “stabbings behind the back”. In simple terms, it also seems like a circus, not a business.

Pros

- You get to sit down every day - When you get bonuses they’re good - Relatively friendly workplace - You can read and chat with colleagues between calls - Tuck shop open Mon-Friday

Cons

- The customers: you get shouted at for following protocol and threatened with legal action, with zero help from your team leader - Management: If your team leader likes you, you’re all set. If you’re not one of your team leader’s favourites though, get ready for an unpleasant time! - Favouritism: The ones who were best friends with the TLs got away with being late or not turning up for their shifts while the rest are penalised for not being logged in and ready to take calls before their start time - Unrealistic Targets and Expectations: How well you do is purely dependent on what customers you end up getting on the phone. The Times has a nasty habit of allowing people to trial abuse, meaning that your job in retentions is ridiculously hard because you get overwhelmed with trial abuser calls who had zero intentions of keeping it behind the trials. You’re treated as if it’s YOUR fault that people can’t afford their newspaper subscriptions anymore when the prices go up.
