Pros
Building lifelong friendships with coworkers
Cons
Leadership was the most challenging aspect of this role. My former supervisor’s communication style often came across as rude and dismissive, and at times seemed to involve putting others down rather than supporting the team. There were also situations where work was not properly credited, which created frustration and a lack of trust. These concerns did not appear to be addressed by senior leadership. Turnover was very high within 11 months, four team members left, which significantly affected morale and continuity. Another supervisor frequently spends a significant portion of the workday away from core responsibilities, often walking around the office and engaging in extended conversations with HR.
