Pros

The only pros this company had were the few people that all agreed that leadership would never get it together. Knowing that someone else was there and shared the same distrust in leaderships ability kept many people together watching out for each other. That an unlimited PTO The people that were not married to the job that you can have a conversation with, without them cringing about you taking care of your work life balance

Cons

Removed phone and internet reimbursement then mandated everyone to come into the office if local with no pay raise, no compensation for gas/travel Reduced in office lunch to one day a week Got rid of the hawks season pass Condescending leadership and people ops Shut up and do your and their work leadership mentaility Favoritism was something that was not hidden in the company and people who might have been hired were more than likely related to or a friend of leadership No upward movement if you were not already in leadership or friends with leadership No transparency in where the company was financially or with clients No honesty of sort from leadership who would try to throw people under the bus when someone talked logically about why something would not work I could add plenty of things but the company is not even on a leg anymore. Hopefully those left find work and enjoy their holiday

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While it’s difficult to hear, we take all input seriously and continue to work toward building a stronger and more transparent company culture. I shared some of your comments during an all-employee meeting this week as areas we are not proud of and are actively working to improve. One of the biggest challenges in the past was financial transparency, but now that we are profitable, it has become much easier to share financial information with our employees. We also recognize concerns around favoritism and career growth. To address this, we’ve implemented individual-level metrics with clear incentives, making performance results quantifiable and reducing subjectivity in decision-making. Additionally, over the past six weeks, we have signed four new logos and have begun hiring employees, each with measurable performance goals and incentive plans to ensure fairness and opportunity for growth. We understand that past decisions have impacted team morale, and while we cannot change the past, we remain focused on creating a culture where employees feel valued and rewarded based on their contributions. We appreciate your perspective and hope that those who remain continue to see improvements. We wish you the best in your future endeavors.

Pros

Few to none, especially of late. Unlimited PTO is probably the only remaining pro.

Cons

This detailed post titled "Run far far away...wont exist in 6 months - Account Executive Kobiton Employee Review" from a year ago is just spot on, except for the time frame. Not 6 but 11 months later the company laid off half the people (major business areas are now non-existent or down to one head). A bunch of important customers churned. Company is hanging by a thread (LinkedIn promo posts are just rosy b.s.). Any more, and it'll fold, and fold it will b/c churn just doesn't magically stop one day. Perhaps that post missed the time mark, but it's not far off. Post's point #3 (and 4b) is just a complete bullseye and should've been point #1. The company and its leadership has a talent for losing its customers (I think it lost many customers from Mobile Labs acquisition). Post titled "Sinking Ship - Anonymous employee Kobiton Employee Review" is also very telling.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your experience at Kobiton was not a positive one, especially after so many years with the company. While we know we haven’t always gotten everything right, we continue to take steps to improve both our product and our company culture. One of the key challenges we’ve addressed is ensuring that we truly listen to our customers. To help with this, we implemented ProductBoard, which captures and prioritizes customer requests. A recent example of this is when we worked with a large financial institution that moved from Perfecto to Kobiton. They needed a feature to view test case execution history, and we collaborated with them to implement it. This approach is helping us align our roadmap with real customer needs. Kobiton was implementing AI-powered mobile testing well before AI became mainstream. While being ahead of the market has been challenging, the rapid adoption of AI in recent years has positioned us well to lead in this space. We acknowledge that some customers left in the past due to code quality issues. Delivering millisecond latency to render a mobile device across the globe to a browser is a complex technical problem, especially when Apple and Google frequently change the ecosystem. However, we have made significant improvements. A great example is Uber’s recent launch of their GSS product, built on Kobiton as the foundation. You can read more about it here: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/kobiton_unlocking-ubers-mobile-excellence-activity-7203407375624454144-rVAL/ . We are incredibly proud of the engineering team that made this happen. We understand that tough decisions, including layoffs, have affected team morale. While these decisions were difficult, we did it to get to profitability and we are now seeing growth momentum. In the last six weeks, we have signed four new logos and are beginning to hire again, each role tied to measurable performance goals and incentive plans. While we respect your perspective, we remain focused on building a stronger company for both our customers and employees. We appreciate your time at Kobiton and wish you the best in your future endeavors.
