Engaged employer

Great programs, learning, caring. No reward of loyal talented employees. Reorgs too much. Older folks no mobility. - Director Liberty Mutual Insurance Employee Review

Pros

Great education, vacation, mentoring, caring people. Investment in New technology, agile methodology, the cloud and innovation. Programs on giving, casual dress, diversity, trying to address morale issues. Doing many great things!

Cons

Constant reorgs which are needed to make the company more competitive. But drawn out too long inhibiting ability to keep teams delivering and motivated. They say career assistance is available but with all the job cuts and hiring young folks from outside, those who have loyally learned and supported change do not have a chance for the new jobs. Morale is low as they cut people through major IT transformation. It looks like jobs are available If you look at the career site but everyone is applying to keep their job. Not net new jobs. Many of those being cut are managers who grew up at the company, did what was needed for many years and they are being cut just prior to retirement and with kids in college. We can still deliver. Where is the loyalty?

Pros

Work from home, only in office twice a month

Cons

-Extremely high paced -Too many claims. Caseload is way too big. -Super stressful having to deal with customers. A lot of them don’t understand insurance or what their policy covers so you will constantly deal with pissed off uninformed insureds -metrics are unrealistic and unattainable. You need to have a 98% answer rate but at the same time you have a million cases and people calling you constantly so this is impossible to achieve. On top of that you have to actually document and determine liability. -Awful work life balance
