Pros

Salary; flexibility; benefits; recognition program

Cons

If you are an HR or Learning and Development professional looking at Liberty Mutual, my advice to you is to keep moving forward beyond this company. The Learning and Development space saw new leadership approximately 2 years ago and has yet to produce anything of significant value as a result. Leadership in this space lacks credibility, control, insight into this industry and innovation. Leadership defers to consultants instead of leveraging deep internal and passionate talent to help shape and drive strategy. Key talent has been removed who don't conform to the less than relevant vision of the future of learning that leadership puts forth. Other key talent is actively leaving under their own volition. If you are a "yes" person looking to simply collect a paycheck, then you are likely safe in this environment. HR leadership and organization is highly internally competitive. HR leadership team appears to lack deep and current HR expertise and best practice and presents outwardly as tired, unmotivated and unmotivating. Additionally, you will see that LM HR continues to ride their Diversity and Inclusion success well beyond its time. This body of work shows well externally yet is not entirely practiced internally based on my experience. This statement is less around diversity of race, religion, gender and more around inclusion of thought, perspective, points of view.

Pros

Work from home, only in office twice a month

Cons

-Extremely high paced -Too many claims. Caseload is way too big. -Super stressful having to deal with customers. A lot of them don’t understand insurance or what their policy covers so you will constantly deal with pissed off uninformed insureds -metrics are unrealistic and unattainable. You need to have a 98% answer rate but at the same time you have a million cases and people calling you constantly so this is impossible to achieve. On top of that you have to actually document and determine liability. -Awful work life balance
