Pros

While acknowledging that every organization has the freedom to make its own hiring decisions, it is disheartening to witness nepotism becoming a daily occurrence at Liberty mutual. The practice of favoring relatives or close connections for key positions, promotions, or desirable opportunities undermines the principles of meritocracy, fairness, and equal opportunity. It erodes trust among employees and creates a sense of disillusionment, demotivating those who strive to excel based on their skills, qualifications, and dedication to a well performed work.

Cons

First and foremost, the most alarming aspect of Liberty Mutual is the excessive workload imposed upon its employees. The expectation to work long hours consistently, including weekends and public holidays, has created an atmosphere of chronic burnout and fatigue among the teams. This overworking culture not only adversely affects the physical and mental well-being of employees but also hampers their productivity and creativity in the long run. Transparency is another critical area where Liberty falls short. There is a pervasive lack of open communication and transparency throughout the organization. This lack of transparency erodes trust and breeds a sense of detachment and disengagement among the team. It is vital for a healthy work environment that employees feel informed and involved in matters that affect them and the company as a whole.

Cons

Started my career at Liberty Mutual as a Workers' Compensation intern. In the beginning, everything was going well. The workload was demanding, but I genuinely enjoyed the job and the work I was doing. One year later, I got promoted to claim adjuster. Things changed after my manager was seriously injured in a car accident. The department director took over managing our team, and the work environment became completely different. She was extremely rude and practiced excessive micromanagement. She expected me not to take any PTO if my work wasn't completely finished, even when I needed time off because my grandmother had suddenly passed away. The constant pressure and lack of empathy took a serious toll on my mental health. I developed depression during that time and eventually had to seek help from a psychologist. In the end, I decided to leave Liberty Mutual. It was one of the best decisions I made for my well-being, and I would not consider returning to the company.
