Pros
- Self starter environment
- Benefits were okay, not the best but not the worst
- Outside of busy season work life balance has been good
- With the move the company has been more dynamic / open to suggestion. This could be seen as good or bad.
Cons
The following are my opinions having worked for this company for many years.
- Corporate decided to merge all operations and move to Texas away from Iowa and Oregon, losing a lot of domain knowledge and stunting a culture of innovation and hard work.
- Sexist work environment, you won't find many women in important leadership positions here.
- Current management has killed the self starting culture. Most managers already have a system they want to build and expect you to fall in line.
- Current management is very set in their ways despite claiming to be open and dynamic.
- Cronyism / Nepotism, if you know someone who knows someone you'll get a job here, regardless of your competency.
- Inappropriate humor, political and borderline illegal religious favoritism.
- Lots of back-channel office politics / sniping.
- Upper management is currently in chaos, lots of turmoil and restructuring.
- Marketing leadership is left wanting - poor direction, very little planning.
- Salaries are below market average and raises have historically been abysmal. You may need to negotiate hard when starting.
- Very little career development is offered, they have tracks for advancement but there don't seem to be paths / goals defined.
