Pros

I've had a good experience at MCG. The company has created opportunities for us employees, and we do everything with the client in mind. The vision of leadership is solid, and this industry is dynamic Creativity is encouraged, independence is a must for you to thrive in this company. Leadership is relatively hands-off and trusts that we know what to do. I think some of the Chinese and American employees have been here for 3 or 4 years - which has meant some stability. This company still has some work to do, but the foundation is good.

Cons

Just one con - they don't always pay on time, but typically within a week or two. Pretty standard for small companies, cash flow is sometimes unpredictable. Nothing particularly bad to say, just please start paying people on time.

Pros

Most of the employees here are Chinese international students who are creative with social media and traditional media. They do have the energy with a desire to come up with fresh ideas.

Cons

- the business modeling of Mandarin Communication Group is only base on the a mass of the email address on the hands of the employer. The employer claimed that the company owns the abundant Mandarin speaking resources which are not exist. - The employer hired a lot Chinese international students who are not familiar with Labor Law to help him work for free. And the employer keeps hiring other students until the current employees realized that they won't get any payment or late pay (sometime late pay goes to unpaid). - The employer has no leadership or management skills and there is a financial issue in the last couple years. I believed that 95% current employees and former employees don't get the payment they deserved. - The employer claimed that he understands Chinese culture deeply, and he claimed that he could help the american business to reach more Mandarin-speaking clients. However, his strategies always are his newsletter email address and employee's personal influences in the school. This business modeling will be failure somehow. - The employer always claim to pay on the time or pay to the employees, but never happened. This is a trust issue between employees and employer which is another major mistake the employer made. - The company no benefits at all. Maybe one benefit is you don't need to pay tax, because you never get a pay or underpaid.

We are sorry to read about your negative experience. We recognize as a small business there may be some common start up areas to address. However, no one is hired as an employee or a contractor unless they have a verified work status in the U.S. Secondly, we utilize internship programs with accredited universities that require documentation with proper procedures for any international student. If any intern chooses to intern for their own experience outside of school credit, their International Office at the University requires additional information. We can't speak specifically about your internship since we aren't aware of what department you worked in or what you were told, but we do have a database of our audience, which as a media and marketing company makes sense and comes from multiple resources and industries.
