Pros
Co-workers at the office I worked at under Manpower were great. I had no issues with any of them, and would have been happy to return to be employed directly by them.
Cons
Manpower was not forthcoming with information that would have helped me in deciding what would be the best move for me personally. I was told that I would be under contract with them for a period of time, and that the other company would then decide whether or not to hire me directly. During my contract time, Manpower would get a percentage of the pay that the other company gave for me and my position. I thought the amount they made off of me was a little unreasonable, but went along with it because I got along great with my co-workers and supervisor at the other company, and I thought the job looked pretty secure. However, near the end of my contract, I got a call from Manpower saying that the contract had been terminated, and that I was not to contact the company I had been working at. I had left work on great terms earlier that day, with no indication of anything like this. No reason was given, and the Manpower employee made me feel like I must have done something terrible, but woudn't tell me anything. I was shocked. I had left another job behind, one that I had worked at for years, but that didn't pay as well and didn't offer a chance for advancement, to take this job. I had also moved to a different city to be closer to this job. The way Manpower presented itself, I thought this was a good move, and offered much more of a chance to advance in my field. I still have not been given any explanation for what happened. I feel that Manpower used me to make money, with no regard for me as a person.
