There's a reason why the turnover is so high - Consultant Marvel Marketers Employee Review

Pros

The giant enterprise clients are what marketers dream of working with.

Cons

The turnover rate tells the story. Go on maternity leave for a couple of months and there will be a whole crop of employees who have come and gone since you left. Management brags about its growth constantly, but it's not growth if you're just backfilling positions because people can't get away from you fast enough. Forget about any kind of career advancement - they tell you there are all kinds of opportunities to move up, but they will always find an excuse to prevent you from actually doing it. And forget about taking time off - you're either scrambling like crazy to cover for someone who quit, or your boss flat-out says no, or chunks of PTO hours have magically disappeared from their HR system. (In fairness, they do replace the hours when you call them on it, but why are they randomly disappearing in the first place??)

Thank you for taking time to share your feedback. We appreciate al feedback. We would like to clarify some of your remarks: We have grown year over year since we started in 2013. The growth we mention is actual growth and is not backfills as you have stated. To assist in the development and career growth of our employees, we have rolled out a career path and development program, which allows employees the opportunities for professional development and career growth progression in their career journey at Marvel Marketers. The feedback we have received since this rolled out has been extremely positive. We encourage our employees to take time off. They earn the time and we want to ensure everyone takes the time necessary. We do ask for the time off to be requested in advance so we can ensure proper coverage on the employee's projects so they are not disturbed while enjoying their time. If any adjustments were requested due to a question on the appropriate PTO hours, this may have been due to a change in policy related to roll over hours, which was communicated in advance, and so therefore, after review, the updates were made timely. The success of our company is due to the smart intelligent people who work with us, at all levels. We stress this belief with every award that we receive and in all meetings that we have with the team. We appreciate and value the dedication and passion of our teams, both past, present and future.

Pros

Marvel Marketers offers the most supportive work environment I’ve ever been a part of. The leadership team is incredibly engaged, and I’ve seen meaningful progress under our new HR Director. New systems and processes are being implemented that support sustainable growth, employee development, and talent recognition. These values are important to me and I feel they are clearly prioritized. There’s a renewed sense of purpose in our culture, with an emphasis on attracting top talent and retaining the incredible team we already have. MM has an outstanding reputation with its partners, and being a consultant here truly positions you as a top-tier professional. While there have been some natural leadership changes, the current direction and structure are setting our CEO and the company up for long-term success. Other Pros: - Compensation is great - Lots of autonomy and flexibility - Amazing work-life balance

Cons

As with many fully remote environments, opportunities for organic employee connection can be limited. That said, I’m encouraged by the revitalized cultural efforts that aim to foster more connection and community across the team. Standard benefits (not terrible, better than what I've encountered in other companies but could be more competetive)

Pros

The HR and Consultant People Managers genuinely cared about employees and did their best to support staff in a difficult environment. Benefits and vacation time were reasonable, especially for a fully remote company. Flexibility was one of the few positives, and many employees worked hard to make the culture functional despite leadership challenges and changes.

Cons

The company culture struggled due to the CEO’s leadership style and a lack of consistent processes. Decision-making felt rigid, with limited room for collaboration or alternative perspectives. Favoritism was occasionally noticeable and employees often felt hesitant to speak openly. Career growth opportunities and promotions are extremely limited due to the company structure and Individual Development Plans were not consistently reviewed or followed, which made development feel unclear. Over time, these issues impacted morale and hindered long-term growth for many employees.
