Pros

The ability to help others live healthier lives by providing innovative medical solutions for chronic disease management. The compensation and benefits are industry leading. The daily affirmation that everyone from the top down in management is committed to living the mission of the company. The wealth creation opportunities at Medtronic are better than any other Medical Device company I have worked for, stock purchase plan, pension plan, 401K matching funds, stock option awards. Someone working as an administrative assistant for 20 years at medtronic has the ability to retire a Millionaire. I would recommend coming to work here to anyone with an interest in contributing to the well being of others.

Cons

The hours can be long at times and the change is very fast paced (this is also a great reason to be here as it is never boring). The expectations are high of our employee's so Medtronic is not for the faint of heart. Working for the industry leader (as we are in most every device category we compete in, means a lot of competitors taking cheap shots at us. I can't think of anything else that is a downside of working here. The people are great, you will be surrounded by the best of the best when you work for Medtronic.

Pros

There are many non-traditional benefits that help with work life balance. The company’s brand and global reach are undeniable and reinforce the company’s compelling Mission.

Cons

People are expected to deliver above-average results with below-average processes. The stock’s performance has earned this pressure, but there is no obvious, quick path to improvement. Your experience in that corporate environment will depend on your supervisor either being a leader or a manager.
