Pros
A very people friendly environment. Coworkers and management are supportive of each other. Work hours are flexible. Lots of freedom to find and work on issues.
Cons
Medical devices is a very highly regulated industry. People are careful to avoid mistakes, and copious amounts of documentation are required to be sure that we are covered. Thus product and process improvements are very slow. If you want to make a difference, it will take a long time. Even simple changes can take years.
