Let’s begin with HR — a department that exists purely to nod at the CEO’s every whim. Independent thought? Never heard of it. The CEO, meanwhile, treats hiring like a hobby and firing like a sport. Employee retention is apparently a myth here. Work-life balance doesn’t exist — just late-night meetings at 10 p.m. (or later) because the management wakes up around sunset. There are no perks, no cab, no structure, and no clarity. Everyone is randomly titled “manager,” and targets change every month to ensure no one ever qualifies for incentives. In a shining display of professionalism, the HR and CEO held a meeting to analyze an employee’s dating life — and even decided that must be the reason for his/her exit. The initial onboarding process was relatively smooth and well-organized.

During my time here, I was surprised to learn that the individuals responsible for training English teachers were primarily maths teachers with no evident background in English language education or teacher training. This led to a disconnect between what was being taught and what was actually relevant or helpful in the classroom. Unfortunately, the training team also lacked basic professional courtesy. Interactions were often marked by rudeness, a condescending attitude, and a general unwillingness to listen or engage respectfully. Rather than fostering a supportive learning environment, the atmosphere felt dismissive and ego driven. For an organization that claims to value education, I expected more qualified and empathetic leadership, especially in a training capacity. It’s disappointing to see such potential wasted due to poor hiring choices and an apparent lack of accountability. I hope the company reconsiders how it selects and prepares its training staff, and starts valuing subject specific expertise, real teaching experience, and, most importantly, basic respect.
