Pros

The only pro I could think about is there are still some excellent engineers and co-workers here. But the company is keeping losing them.

Cons

No respect to tech. No respect to engineers. No improvement and no plan for future and we are losing our faith. How pathetic for a company which has established for 7 years calls itself a startup but has no innovation. Company pays engineers with much lower rates than average of Bay Area but still expects they could contribute more. I believe most of people here are not happy and want to leave if they could have a chance. Young engineers are wasting their precious time here because they could not learn something useful. I have no idea why the executives are still showing their confidence. The main job of the company every year is trying to find more customers and selling them our old product. No growth and our product will not be fancy any more. We will lose all of our customers in the end. If you are a young engineer, do not come here. They like experienced guys who could also accept a new-grad salary. So no engineers in Bay Area are interested and company hired a lot of remote engineers from other states. Then company could pay them with local rates which are much lower than the Bay Area standard.

Moovweb Response

I do appreciate the time you have taken to craft your response. As you know, we recently had a new product launch (MoovCheckout) which is going well, and mapped out our plan during our last all hands meeting for even greater things to come into 2017. We did hire a few remote engineers, and these individuals had the deep-dive ecommerce experience that we needed, something which finding on the local level was becoming quite a challenge. I understand you are frustrated and I am sorry for that, but please be mindful that innovation often times requires change, growth and commitment at every level of the organization.

Pros

Super smart people, great product, lots of growth potential. The culture is very friendly and supportive, lots of opportunities to contribute and develop.

Cons

No major cons - just a less structure than in larger organizations, with the good and the bad that comes with it. Definitely a place where you are expected be as autonomous as possible.

Pros

Moovweb is incredibly empowering as a company. They have a ton of amazing client relationships (300+ brands) and the founders give employees free reign to deliver value to those clients as they see fit. As a product leader this is one of the most exciting opportunities I've ever had. The market has clear needs, the company has relationships with all the folks I need to talk to - and I'm left to discover and build what will deliver the most value to them. I also very much enjoy the founder's level of expertise and vision in the ecommerce space. We have a very strong tiered strategy with current industry leading products, emerging products, and over the horizon bets. This is very rare for a mid-size company to be able to executive effectively on. Last, but certainly not least, the team is strong - folks push hard to get to the right answer on issues that no one else in our industry has solved. The founders have done a great job in attracting people who like solving universally unsolved problems. The people are also fun - I regularly enjoy having co-workers over to my house or going to events together. I genuinely look forward to seeing my team every day.

Cons

There is a distinct lack of structure and process at Moovweb. The company is in a constant state of growth where our systems are a step behind the reality of our size. It can be good in that there is basically no bureaucracy/politics, but you're definitely on your own to navigate all the prices of the organization.
