Pros
You get to work with a diverse group of hourly workers. It can be challenging yet rewarding at the same time. By being on your feet all day keeps you in shape. Every day is extremely busy so the days never drag on. The best thing is you get to work for Director Mike Gillespie who is the best Director anyone has ever worked for. He may get extremely angry, turn red and assign a lot of work to us all, but we all know it's because he cares and wants us to be the best. He also tells the best corny jokes and our daily line up meetings.
Cons
Work life balance is tough. The early shifts are exhausting and the late shifts make it difficult to be with family and friends. It is hard to get all of your work done in the 9 hour day. Very poor healthcare benefits. You have high premiums and high deductibles. So a big chunk of your average salary goes to pay for these. IT support is very poor. You are really on your own when IT things go wrong. Managing Union employees can be difficult.
