Pros
Salary is comparable to most companies but its low for most positions besides top management who get paid too much and have unlimited business credit cards to waste on expensive meals etc, Myself among a few managers went to dinner with one of the top guys and he only goes to fancy places where you pay $40 a plate so while they get to live large you get low pay for the stressful job.
Cons
your expendable, very long hours for some positions, family life is non existent depending on your position, for a chef expect 60-80 hours a week plus being on call often even on your days off.
