Pros

Medical benefits, discounts, stock options, gyms, some really great/talented people, etc.

Cons

Boys club/toxic masculinity/cliquey high school behavior Poor management and lack of servant leadership development Under-the-table promotions based off who you know/if you're a white male Stolen ideas/credit, broken promises, and blocked stretch opportunities for selfish gain Lack of senior leadership transparency Hiring BIPOC & women into senior positions to check "diversity and inclusion" boxes Expensive on-campus food Work/life balance is sometimes not respected and falsely promised Senior leadership doesn't necessarily care to push against the grain in a bold way, rethink processes, or see things from new perspectives - they have their own agenda Being told to speak up and then when you do, being told to shut up Essentially zero onboarding unless you get very lucky Many unethical people & processes Below-market pay coupled with higher output expectations the lower in band level you get Poor budget management and excessive/careless employee spending on the company's dime Not many growth opportunities for BIPOC, women (unless you suck up, drink the kool-aid, or are in the boys club) Employees are only a number in the grand scheme of things and are fully at the company's disposal Not in any way a sustainable brand/company

Pros

Working at Nike was a great experience overall. The company culture is energetic, inclusive, and team-oriented. Management encourages employees to embody the Nike brand and provides opportunities for growth within retail and corporate roles. Employee discounts are excellent and make it easy to enjoy the products you sell. The work environment is fast-paced, especially during launches and holiday seasons, which keeps the job engaging. I also appreciated working alongside passionate teammates who genuinely cared about customer service and creating a positive shopping experience.

Cons

Retail schedules can be inconsistent and often include nights, weekends, and holidays. During peak periods, the store can become extremely busy, which can be stressful when balancing customer service expectations with operational tasks. Advancement opportunities can vary depending on store location and management structure.
