Demanding job with low pay - Voice Writer National Captioning Institute Employee Review

Pros

The biggest pro is being able to work from home.

Cons

Low pay for the industry, tough workload, constant threat of lay-offs as the company transitions to AI captioning, random schedule changes, evaluations every three months where you must prove you can caption at 97% or sometimes 98% accuracy, schedulers change your assignments at the last minute and some of them know very little about captioning. Since it is work-from-home, there isn't much socializing, so it was hard to get to know my coworkers. The people I did talk to felt unappreciated and like their jobs were constantly at risk and that management did not really understand the workload.
