Pros

Opportunity to go to interesting companies/customers. Interesting technology to learn. Travel for work is available. Gym reimbursement for half the cost. up to $50 Tuition reimbursement up to $5200

Cons

Sick time and PTO is combined for a total of 3 weeks. In addition, you need to accrue 67% of this time. 401k is vested in 33% increments (1st year 33%, 2nd 67%, 3rd 100%). You also need to wait 3 months before you can join 401k plan. Healthcare used is United Healthcare. Very little training. Poor/outdated documentation. Management does not provide sufficient support. You will be voluntold to travel. Few career opportunities for certain departments.

Pros

Amazing products, company culture and team environment.

Cons

None really - working on US processes and new system so some challenges ahead. Need to continue to focus on employees and customers as priority.

Pros

- Lots of opportunity to impact the future of a company leading a cutting edge industry - SLM's US office is still growing and with that there are growth opportunities - Despite headwinds to the AM industry, SLM is continuing to grow and invest in the future with support from Nikon - Management is transparent and has a good vision for the future - Team is passionate about additive and the products they create

Cons

- US office in many ways feels like a start up, does not always have the resources or structure needed unless you build it up yourself - SLM is headquartered in Germany and communication across time zones can be difficult - While the US office grows its presence, the cultural and technical leadership is centered in Germany. This dependency is changing but can create challenges - Though the team is growing, there is more work to be done than people available to complete all of it. At times, this can lead to taking on greater technical risk or making trade-offs in the solutions being developed
