Pros

Relaxed environment, core hours are very reasonable, no micromanaging. It is usually really easy to apply for another job internally and do that job. Unlike other companies you only have to hold the same position for 6 months, which is not bad at all if you find it is a terrible fit. Generally easy to talk to a manager if you have an interest in another department. Generally don’t care if you WFH on occasion for whatever reason. Almost impossible to get fired from here unless you are laid off. You can coast in this job no problem. You will get a raise every year, sure it’s not great but at least it is promised. Some companies do not give you a raise every year.

Cons

“Good boys club” culture is still circulating and this will take years to remove. People who work hard and have the technical aptitude do not get recognized for their contributions. People who are friends with management get promoted and recognized, even if they do not contribute. The culture in the Chandler facility is extremely toxic, abusive, and lacks professionalism. This is a big reason I had to leave the environment. You cannot confide in your management to help solve issues that are within their scope, because they will use that against you. I have never worked somewhere where the lead or manager will talk negatively/gossip about their own team. Depending on your group, you could end up being treated more like a slave rather than a respectable employee. Examples include Configuration and Document Control, Data Transfer Agents, IT, & Systems Engineering. These departments experience levels of abuse that should not be tolerated by the Program Management of Chandler including contacting their personal phones off hours. The turnover here is high and there is a reason. Recently, the company had layoffs and have no idea how to hire the right people. They will continue to lose great employees because of the way they treat people.

Pros

Not much pros but talented coworkers.

Cons

I joined expecting a long-term career and initially had a positive experience. Unfortunately, the culture changed significantly after leadership transitions. Micromanagement increased, decision-making became highly centralized, and employee morale steadily declined. Many experienced employees and managers left during my time there, making it difficult to maintain continuity and trust within the organization. The work itself was meaningful, and I had the opportunity to support important projects with talented colleagues. However, recognition, career growth, and employee retention did not appear to receive the same level of attention as process, reporting, and management oversight. My layoff was communicated as unrelated to performance, which was appreciated. However, after years of contribution and institutional knowledge, the overall experience left me feeling that employees were viewed as replaceable rather than valued long-term assets.
