Pros

You can work from home. Their latest platform for editing and transcription is easy to use and is partly Word-based and most of the service managers are friendly and try to help when they can. You get a tiny bonus for shift work.

Cons

This company seems to do everything in their power to increase their profit and decrease the pay of employees. Even after many years of employment, there has been no bonus, no increase in pay, a decrease in pay, lack of work, and required to pay for and provide your own software, hardware, and internet. (Because they changed their software for the umpteenth time, I had to purchase an entirely new computer, with no financial help from them, with less than a month's notice, and during a period where they provided little work and therefore, low income.) There is essentially no way to increase your pay and it continues to decrease as they continually and unfairly change their extremely complex matrix for determining how much you will be paid. The matrix is so complex, it's virtually impossible to determine if you are paid correctly and it is designed in a way that, even if you are one of their best MLS, you still won't make much money. Even the smallest and rarest typos and mistakes are punished and will reduce your pay for every job produced. Their voice editing system occasionally has some great drafts that you can fly through, but those are the exception. They are often so poor that you end up fixing 50% to 100% of the draft, but you get paid about 60% less than if you had typed the entire report. The benefits package is okay, but expensive. This is not a pleasant place to work and is not good if you are working because you actually need money to pay bills. It might be okay for somebody that just wants something to do and a little bit of pocket cash for doing it.

Pros

The company offers excellent training and a thorough onboarding process, helping new hires feel well-prepared and confident. The small, close-knit teams foster a collaborative and supportive work environment where you never feel lost in the crowd. Employees take pride in the innovative technology and software being developed, which is recognized as impactful within the industry. (Note: The company was acquired by Microsoft to bring potential for future growth.)

Cons

While the company excels in many areas, there’s limited upward mobility, especially in certain career paths, which can be frustrating for those seeking advancement. Additionally, feedback from employees often feels like it’s not taken seriously, which can lead to disengagement when trying to influence change or improve processes.
