Pros
I recently joined OCU Group and was immediately impressed by the Head Office. It is a wonderful place to work, and the attention to detail right down to the OCU branded china mugs, really stood out to me. I received my starter package promptly, with my laptop and mobile phone ready for use. My manager was extremely organised and ensured all my technology was fully set up within my first week. She has been incredibly helpful and supportive, which made the onboarding process smooth and reassuring. The team I am working with have been very welcoming. They have taken the time to answer all my questions and make sure I felt settled from day one. Andy also made time in his busy schedule to give me a full tour of the project’s working areas, which I really appreciated. Overall, the team have been extremely supportive, and I couldn’t have asked for a better start.
Cons
I recently had to undergo an emergency operation, which left me extremely unwell. During this time, my manager regularly checked in with me, and when I returned to work, everyone was incredibly supportive and caring. Health and Safety made sure I was comfortable, and OCU kindly allowed me to work from home during my recovery. This helped me stay connected with the team and maintain a sense of normality. Once I had fully recovered, I returned on a phased basis. Although I was eager to get back to my full duties straight away, the phased return was definitely the most sensible and beneficial approach. Thank you to everyone at OCU for the support, understanding, and kindness during my recovery and my apologies for the sudden nature of my operation.
