Pros

People outside of management are very friendly, hard working and knowledgeable. However, their talents and skills are not used to the full potential.

Cons

Management continues to go through a trial and error process to determine the best way to move the company forward, however nothing ever sticks. You are micromanaged and there is never room for outside ideas, suggestions, or discussions.

Pros

Not a bad commute as it is quite some distance from downtown Cincinnati. Good camaraderie among the actual developers.

Cons

The president, Mark Parker, had a habit of throwing tantrums when dissatisfied with the work product, but offered no clear guidance or direction. On one occasion threw a marker at a project manager during a particularly heated disagreement. Had a policy of no cell phone use in the office. Mark also installed spyware on his own servers to monitor the screens and internet use of the employees, without informing them. These incidents were thoroughly documented. The environment was caustic, the president had no clear direction or focus, and lacked any ability to effectively manage the organization.

Thank you for your review, I am always open to constructive feedback from past and present employees. That being said, I think it is important to put your review into the proper context. Although the review is dated March 21, 2019, the claims stated occurred over 15-years ago when the company was named MAP Software. In 2004, we did install monitoring software on a few computers for a brief time, which all employees consented to at the beginning of their employment, and yes at that time we did have a no cell phone policy in our Employee Handbook. I do not recall the marker incident, so I am unable to respond to your accusation. Quite honestly when I started MAP Software at age 24, I wasn’t thinking about culture or what it takes to hire and retain great people. Over the years I have learned a lot from my employees, and have become a more conscious and effective leader in part because their feedback. You obviously didn’t have a positive work experience at MAP Software, and for that I am sorry.
