Pros

Everyone in the company is welcoming, friendly, and vibrantly creative! Great studio culture, easy to make friends. Good transparency, from what I could tell. I was only there for a summer, but the partner in the St. Louis office made a point to reach out to the interns and ask about their experience.

Cons

Overtime is kind of expected. Not all of the time, but there are definitely intense periods I noticed while in the office where people were having to come in over the weekends before a big deadline or stay pretty late during the week. I was not on a project that required much overtime, so I guess it just depends on the project, project manager, and client.

Pros

PGAV works on exciting, high-profile projects that can be creatively rewarding, especially for those who enjoy themed entertainment and immersive design. There’s potential to explore new tools and workflows if you take initiative, but the flat structure can make leadership and ownership of ideas murky. Internal politics sometimes outweigh collaboration, and recognition often depends more on positioning than contribution. Still, if you’re self-driven, you can carve out meaningful work.

Cons

The flat structure not only creates confusion around roles and recognition—it also fosters a toxic environment where power plays and passive-aggressive behavior are common. Without formal accountability or support systems, internal politics can become overwhelming, especially for those trying to lead or innovate. Over time, the lack of clarity, fairness, and psychological safety can take a serious toll on mental health.
