Trying to be positive, I took away some interesting experience that I hope to use elsewhere. - Proposal & Contract Developer Parexel Employee Review

Pros

-A paycheck -Some experience working in a CRO. This would be helpful as a place to start working, but take your experience elsewhere.

Cons

-If you are not a political animal, you will not survive here. You will not get promotions, praise for a job well done, or any recognition and you will get 'passed over' etc. -Training is practically non-existent. You basically get thrown 'into the deep end' and teach yourself the various systems or procedures. All this while trying to do your job. -LEAP initiative was a total disaster. This was not well-thought out, planned or executed by senior management. -No real or attainable goals are set for employees. Managers keep demanding more, but give you no guidelines or ways to achieve any goals. -Management keeps changing procedures, so it can get extremely confusing and frustrating trying to keep up with the changes. -No real balance between work and home. I received many e-mails from people working into the wee hours of the morning. -Deadlines for some of the RFPs are ridiculous at best. This makes for long hours and a lot of tension. -Trying to get resources lined up for a clinical trial is a joke. -Temps or Contractors are treated as though they are a lower life form.

Pros

A few nice people. That's it.

Cons

"With Heart" is a joke. This company does not care about its employees. Those that have been there for a number of years seem to be brainwashed into thinking this culture is normal and that this company cares about them. Parexel likes to make employees feel like they are just lucky to be there. Senior Leadership lacks management and people skills and are quick to throw employees under the bus to protect themselves. Probably because for many of them this is the only company they've ever worked for. This accounts for the high school clique-like culture. The workload is ridiculous for the pay and expectations are constantly shifting. The only thing Parexel cares about is money. The company is overloaded with ridiculous metrics. It's practically all you will have time to do. The most miserable place I've ever worked.
