Pros

There's a friendliness among people working "on the floor", in operational positions throughout the company. Also, I experienced a lot of trust and was given autonomy from my manager although I don't know if this is applicable in a larger context.

Cons

There are too many high level managers who are too old and have been in the company for too long. They don't understand market needs, employees' needs or how to meet the competition from smaller and more agile companies. Also, the organizational structure is a complete mess. Pearson has created a culture where video meetings have replaced actual work, and where decisions are extremely inefficient. Small and insignificant issues are shared with too many uninformed people, and nothing happens until consensus is reached; as an effect many trivial questions are repeatedly postponed to future meetings. Working within in this culture is frustrating for people who want to get things done, who have the ability to move things forward, who have experience from more efficient organizations and who have visions for the future.

Pros

Wonderful people who truly care about what they do and who they work with.

Cons

Hard to sell into with oversaturated markets and the onset of AI.

Pros

When a project goes according to plan you can work with some great people and make decent money.

Cons

Bad behavior is tolerated when you have a weak team member. They are allowed to remain on payroll, even if they do not effectively contribute. The burden is often placed on the team members willing to pick up the slack. Promotions are not given to the most qualified. They are randomly assigned. There are some horrible scoring directors as a result.
