Pros

Nice colleagues. Fun products to sell.

Cons

No stock, you get the sale but can't ship on time. Things move very slow. Antiquated software. Things go unresolved and projects never get completed. The salaries seem on average 20% below market but they tell you otherwise. I think everyone there is looking for something else. They are getting more strict and taking some of the few perks away.

Pros

One of the best parts about working at Pepperl+Fuchs is the strength of the products and the product management team. The technology is well respected in the industry, and the product managers are extremely knowledgeable and supportive.

Cons

Warning to motivated professionals: This may not be the right place if you're looking for growth, innovation, or a fast-moving environment. The company moves extremely slowly when it comes to change, with many key decisions controlled overseas while U.S. teams are left working with outdated systems and manual processes. For a company that promotes technology, many internal tools—especially the CRM—feel stuck in the past, and there are numerous manual tasks that could easily be automated but remain unchanged. Since the restructuring that combined the Process Automation and Factory Automation divisions, the culture has shifted significantly. It increasingly feels like a Factory Automation takeover, with several people from the Process Automation side either leaving or being laid off. The collaboration that once existed between teams has largely been replaced by internal politics and slower decision-making. Sales teams are expected to travel heavily and maintain full calendars—even when customers may not want visits—while compensation remains below market and raises are uncommon. Even more concerning, sales targets and performance metrics are often unclear, making it difficult to understand what success actually looks like or how commissions are earned. Micromanagement and constant monitoring are common, and recent restructuring has created uncertainty across teams. Employees are often judged more on appearances such as keeping a busy calendar—than on meaningful outcomes. There are still many talented and supportive people within the organization, but the overall environment has become far more stressful and politically driven than it once was. Ambitious professionals who value transparency, modern tools, and a culture that rewards performance may want to carefully consider their options.
